BRIAN COOPER

BRIAN COOPER is originally from San Francisco and currently lives in Los Angeles. He earned his BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1995 and his MFA from the University of Southern California in 2002. His work has been exhibited at several galleries in Los Angeles like Acuna Hansen, Circus, Cirrus, Sam Lee, Track 16, and Raid Projects. His work has also been included in shows at Gallery MC in New York, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, the Tucson Museum of Contemporary Art, Green Gallery in Milwaukee, De Parel Gallery in Amsterdam and a solo show at the University of California Riverside. His work has been featured in national and international publications like Beautiful Decay, New American Paintings, Artweek, Artillery and Spain’s Rojo Magazine. Cooper’s work was included in the L.A. Weekly’s 2008 Biennial, “Some Paintings” and is a recipient of the 2009 West Prize in Philadelphia.
