David Shumate’s first book of prose poems, High Water Mark (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2004), won the 2003 Agnes Lynch Starrett Prize. His second book, The Floating Bridge, is forthcoming from the University of Pittsburgh Press in January, 2008. He lives in Zionsville, Indiana and teaches at Marian College.
