Douglas McKinstry teaches literature and writing at the university in Knoxville, Tennessee, where some time back he earned a doctorate degree in English. He has a seven-year-old son named Adam. McKinstry’s stories have appeared or are upcoming in Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine, Detective Mystery Stories, The Iconoclast, Words of Wisdom, Night to Dawn, and Nth Degree. One of his stories was nominated for a Pushcart Prize for fiction.
His story, “On Writing the Hardboiled Mystery,” appeared in Issue 18.1 – Winter/Spring 2005.
