HELENA MARIA VIRAMONTES

Helena Maria Viramontes is the author of The Moths and Other Stories, Under the Feet of Jesus, and Their Dogs Came With Them, among others. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the John Dos Passos Award for Literature and was named a USA Ford Fellow in 2007.

She has been a community organizer, was the coordinator of the Los Angeles Latino Writers Association and is currently on the faculty in the English Department at Cornell University.
